The Intelligent Home Solutions for Independent Living Project was developed by McLean Care Ltd in partnership with Deakin University and Monash University under funding by the Australian Government Commonwealth Home Support Programme 2019.
The objective of the project for the Australian Government was to trial or use innovative approaches for the delivery of Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) services to meet the entry level aged care needs of older Australians, in line with the objectives and within the content of the broader aged care system.
The Intelligent Home Solutions for Independent Living project has implemented an individually tailored suite of off-the-shelf Smart Home technologies designed to match assessed individual needs for CHSP participants.
Using a co-design approach, older people have been involved in reviewing the suite of products for their accessibility and utility, and their reviews published on this website.
Research partners have explored the impacts of the technology on everyday living and independence, with their findings shared beyond the life of the project.
The project has focused on the New England region of NSW Australia.
